Angela Young

Fish Room Technician


Angela joined the Aquatics lab as Fish Room Technician in January 2010. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology Co-op with Honours from Dalhousie University in May 2008, she worked for a year and a half in Dalhousie’s Oceanography Department. Now her primary responsibilities are caring for and maintaining the zebrafish and their system. This includes breeding the zebrafish, collecting and screening their embryos, insuring the system is running properly as well as many other tasks associated with both the adult and embryo zebrafish. Angela also assists the other members of the Berman lab with general laboratory duties such as preparing reagents, supplies inventory, as well as maintaining general cleanliness and organization of the lab.

In the short time Angela has been in the Aquatics lab she has learned many new things and has enjoyed learning about the various research projects ongoing in the lab.
